To The Tower!

As soon as Royal Wedding fever kicked in, I was knitting furiously. Admittedly it was not my original idea. I was dribbling my way through Amazon. You know the score...if you bought this...you may like THIS! Damned right. I nearly spilt my tea (Earl Gray of course, although the Queen prefers Darjeeling). I digress. I stumbled upon a Knit Your Own Royal Wedding book by Fiona Goble. (Heaven).

All in all it took me about 6 weeks to fill up my office shelf with footmen, corgis, The A B of C, D of E, Q (herself) Wills, Harry, PC and CP-B, and of course the lovely Kate.

My Royal Wedding commemorative mug had arrived the previous week, so I was all set. Of course I had to go off pattern from early on. I wired their little fuzzy bodies so they are fully bendable. Made soles on their feet so they can easily stand up, and went to town with their faces. Has anyone ever seen the Queen smiling? No.

Admittedly, my favourite is the D of E. He's 90 now, so he has a slight stoop. Hands clasped firmly behind his back and a wry smile.
Harry has unfeasibly orange hair, and PC has unfeasibly large, erm, external auditory pinnae.

The lovely lady in the local wool shop wants them for her shop window next year, for the Golden Jubilee.

Not without further tweaking.

A few of the faces done in haste will be reworked, and who would have forseen that Bea and Eu would have stolen the show. I have big ideas for those two lovely ladies.

In fact, I think I may just reach for the needles right now. Will keep you posted.

God bless you marm. I'm open to medals or titles :D
