Yet another weekend blighted by work. No hiking...no shopping...no leaving the county... no clogging...no civilised glass of Pinot Grigio. Well, for a start, it would never in a month of Sundays EVER be just one civilised glass. Perhaps it is for the best. I know what rotten livers look like, and I think I should be kind to mine for a week or two.
Amigurumi it is then.
Who would have thought there would be a pattern for conjoined twins to crochet on the internet. Well I found it. (Incidentally, there is a pattern for a conjoined elephant too, but that is just ridiculous!)
They are really sweet, these little dolls. Slightly 'Cabaret' and decadent, but sweet nevertheless. I have made three now...lined up firing-squad-style until I think of something to do with them, or manage to fob them off on to an unsuspecting recipient. (My brother leaps to mind. Afterall, he took Dick Strawbridge to Spain in his suitcase this year..knitted, I hasten to add. I would hate to be responsible for a visit from CID).
My knitted Royal Family are languishing in a box in the attic. My woolly internal organs lie neglected in the piano-stool. My seven knitted faeries are contained in a french bird-cage in the garden-room (pesky little things!), and my new book on how to knit a pedigree cat lies untouched until I can bring myself to spend £10 on a ball of mohair.
All in all my woolly projects are mostly complete. I have a half finished summer cardigan. Summer has now passed. I have a half finished proggy mat still on the frame, waiting until I can bring myself to cut up two unsuccessful summer dresses. I have a half quilted patchwork which I shall abandon, and a crocheted blanket, in situ..ends still not woven in. (Not a priority).
That is not bad...for me.
What to do next? An amigurumied Wednesday Addams, methinks! I shall just unconjoin the twin pattern and make one less leg and head. Sorted!
Somehow, I don't think the Early Learning Centre will be waving contracts at me. I can live with that. :)
